Find your voice. Shape your words and your future.

MicrophoneDo you desire to increase your management potential, extend your influence, motivate and persuade others or gain recognition?

Success in business and in life depends in large part on communication and leadership. Toastmasters is a non-profit education organization which enables you to advance these competencies through time-tested and self–paced programs. You will learn to speak effectively, conduct meetings, manage a team and lead others, all in a supportive environment.

Parliament Hill Toastmasters meets in downtown Ottawa, in the meeting room of the Main Branch Location of the Ottawa Public Library, 120 Metcalfe Street (at Laurier Avenue West). Guests are always welcome. Nancy awarded "Parliament Hill Toastmaster of the Year" Trophy!
Nancy, the current VP Education and incoming President, was recently awarded the "Parliament Hill Toastmaster of the Year" Trophy  by Club President, Victor Motora.  She was awarded the trophy due to her commitment to the club and the Toastmasters program.  She was also recognized for bringing new ideas into the club from experience gained attending District, Regional and International events and learning the standards of Toastmasters.  Her ability to get things done in her quiet manner was also noted.

Summer Break

It's summertime, and the living is easy...

Parliament Hill Toastmasters will not be meeting in July, so that our members can enoy their summer to the fullest. We will meet twice in August, on the 5th and the 19th, at our regular time and place. Have a great summer everyone!

Congratulations to Ruby, for completing her ACB!
On Thursday, May 20, Ruby achieved her Advanced Communicator Bronze. Her story about the discovery of insulin was the final project from the advanced Storytelling manual. Ruby started working on her ACB less than a year ago, so this is an impressive achievement. Way to go Ruby!

Confessions of a Male Knitter
As members of Parliament Hill Toastmasters know, Dave recently competed in the Division D International Speech Contest. No, he didn't win, but his speech "Confessions of a Male Knitter" continues to be popular. He recently presented his speech to his adoptive ladies knitting group, and they recorded it and posted it online. Check it out!
