Story Moment of Humour | Print |

TIME

1 minute to 2 minutes

BEFORE THE MEETING

Select a story or joke and, if necessary, write it down and rehearse.

AT THE MEETING

When called upon by the President, deliver your story or joke.

TIPS

A joke can be a funny anecdote, a quote or a saying. The guideline to be followed is the joke should be “Toast masterly”. This means that if there is the slightest chance that it would offend anyone, it should not be used. This includes ethnic jokes, vulgarity, etc.

Given these guidelines, this cuts out a lot of humor. However, there are plenty of sources of suitable jokes and stories, such as Reader’s Digest.
