You may use 30 seconds of general comments, then 30 seconds for each speaker, then 30 seconds to conclude your evaluation.

PURPOSE

The Table Topics Evaluator is a role that permits you to give feedback during the general evaluation regarding impromptu speaking. As the Table Topics Evaluator, you listen carefully to the speakers during the table topics session and provide them with constructive feedback at the end of the meeting.

Example of points to consider in your evaluation of table topics:

  • Introduction, body, conclusion (appeal to action) of the table topic

  • The person answers the question properly

  • Confidence of the speaker and the manner the table topics is delivered

  • Body gestures

  • Vocal variety: fluidity, softness, speed, pauses

  • Eye contact with the audience: left, center, right

  • Enthusiasm and motivation of the speaker

  • Contact with the audience

During the table topics evaluation, give strong feedback to each speaker with one or 2 points of improvement.
